Ballard's first novel, The Wind from Nowhere is reputed to have been written in a single, frenzied week. It's certainly thin, but don't be fooled; it packs a horrible punch. Creeping horror, insane claustrophobia, and handy tips for when you're building your own pyramid; this book has it all. It even has a happy ending. Relatively speaking. The photos were made by spinning, shaking and throwing the camera around my living room. The clouds of brown dust is my scary carpet. This is a really pretty 1967 Penguin Science Fiction paperback, with a very Peelart cover by Alan Aldridge. The photos don't do it justice. |
